I think it goes without saying that the Virus is spreading from person to person literally, and figuratively. What’s on the news? What’s the topic of conversation? What is engulfing our timelines? You guessed it... FEAR and negativity. Thought I was going to say the Coronavirus didn't you? Well dear Rona is certainly one popular gal but these big names are not letting her outshine them.


Take a look at the various Celebrities, Entrepreneurs, Fashion Influencers and CEOs who are working overtime to keep their spots at the top and securing our FOREVER support!




CEOs & Organizations:


  1. Delta CEO Ed Bastian says he will forgo his salary for six months to avoid potential layoffs

  2. Starbucks will pay workers for the next 30 days, even if they stay home

  3. Texas Roadhouse CEO will forgo his base salary and incentive bonuses to assist front line hourly employees

  4. Fox donates it’s Personal Protection Equipment (masks, gowns, gloves, and more) from its shows The Good Doctor, Grey’s Anatomy, & The Resident to local hospitals 

  5. Disney Parks tweets “During the temporary closure of @Disneyland, the resort will donate excess food to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.”


CELEBRITIES: 


  1. Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation donates $5 million to relief efforts (Haiti, Malawi, Barbados & the US) covered the cost of ventilators in her home country of Barbados, & donated Personal Protective Equipment to New York State

  2. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds announced via Instagram that they’ll be donating $1 million to be split between the two charities, Feeding America and Food Banks Canada

  3. Kylie Jenner donated $1 million to help local L.A. Hospitals buy masks, face shields, and other much needed PPE.

  4. Angelina Jolie donated $1 million to No Kid Hungry, which will provide meals during nationwide school closings for children in the US who come from low-income families. 

  5. Several online posts have revealed that Taylor Swift has directly provided varying amounts to fans who have expressed their struggles on social media

  6. Pringus Property LLC, the company owned by actors Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell have waived their tenants rent through April. Additionally they donated 150,000+ to No Kids Hungry


ENTERTAINMENT:

  1. Tidal launched a free “At Home with Tidal” Livestream series 3/25-3/29 which includes past performances from your favorite artists in the genres of Pop, Electronic, Latin, Hip Hop and R&B



SPORTS:


  1. Houston Texan’s J.J. Watt and his wife, Chicago Red Stars’ Kealia Ohai, donated $350,000 to the Houston Food Bank

  2. The Bulls and White Sox have teamed up to commit 100,000 to support the Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund

  3. Zion Williamson will cover the salaries of Smoothie King Center staff.

  4. Kevin Love donated $100,000 for the staff at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

  5. Seattle Seahawks’ Russell Wilson & Singer/Entertainer wife Ciara posted on instagram stating they’re donating 1 million meals with Seattle @FoodLifeLine

  6. New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees & his wife have committed to a $5 million dollar donation to the state of Louisiana to “help their communities get through this tough time.” 

  7. Mark Cuban worked with American Airlines Center leadership to ensure the event staff would be paid for the 6 home games that would no longer be played due to the NBA’s break. Cuban along with others donated 500,000 to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital, delivered meals and refreshments to Critical Care Teams and paid for meals for workers of various drive-up testing sites




FASHION:


  1. Donatella Versace and her daughter donate €200,000 to a hospital in Milan.

  2. Fashion designer Ralph Lauren is committing 10 million towards relief efforts through his Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation

  3. Giorgio Armani took out a full page ad in 60+ Italian Newspapers and dedicated it to healthcare workers. Additionally he has donated 1.5million 

  4. Gucci donates 1million to the National Civil Protection Dept to aid Italy’s health services & organizations and an additional 1 million to the UN’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund

  5. The owner of Zara has produced its own face masks and donated them to patients and medical professionals

  6. Kenneth Cole is donating 20% if its online sales to the UN’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund

  7. Prada donated 6 ICU to 3 of Milan’s biggest hospitals and is in the midst of producing over 75,000 medical overalls and 100,000+ masks for healthcare workers.




Governments Are Coming Together to Support their citizens in their time of need:


  1. Canada: Providing $2000 a month for 4 months & delay of student loan repayments for 3 months

  2. Denmark: Paying 75% of people’s salary

  3. US: $1200 to qualifying individuals

  4. England: Paying 80% or people’s salary
